Hymen and Masturbation

Masturbation definition

Masturbation denotes all forms of sexual stimulation outside of the conjugal act which is suitable in itself for the procreation of offspring, to which marriage is ordered by its nature and by which the spouses become one flesh.

Any attempts to avoid pregnancy can fail, and this is why no marital intercourse may be classified as masturbation.

Sexual intercourse (also called coitus, or copulation) is reproductive act in which the male reproductive organ enters the female reproductive tract, if the reproductive act is complete, sperm cells are passed from the male body into the female, in the process fertilizing the female egg and forming a new organism.

This biological definition explains the ultimate goal of sexual intercourse and corresponds well with St. Thomas Aquinas teaching. On the basis of teleology, every emission of seed that takes place in such a way that generation cannot result or suitably result is against the good of the human being. Thus, if this is purposely done, it is a sin. The inordinate emission of seed opposes the good of the nature which is the preservation of the species.

Consequently, all forms of sexual stimulation outside of the conjugal act may be classified as masturbation.

If so, those who cannot control their sexuality should
  • realize that to achieve sexual pleasure both genders first of all engage in masturbation and much less commonly in coitus;
  • be ensured that non-penetrative masturbation is by no means inferior to the vaginal, anal and oral insertive sex (i. e. penis-in-vagina, penis-in-anus, penis-in-mouth sex);
  • abstain from the most dangerous forms of masturbation.

The hygiene of the hymen requires stopping any digital or instrumental stimulating enough far from the vaginal vestibule to make sure that the hymen is safeguarded. Both sexes should realize that adequate stimulation of the clitoris must result in a female orgasm. Thus rubbing the vaginal vestibule makes no sense. While vaginal orgasm is not existent no wise virgin would ever let her hymen destroyed in order to experience sexual pleasure.

Functional anatomy of the clitoris. A common pattern of female sexual self-stimulation: target organs

A common pattern of
female sexual self-stimulation: target organs

1. Clitoral glans (hood) directly, by rubbing
and pressing against the pubic bone

2. Labia directly, by rubbing and clitoral bulbs indirectly,
by pressing the labia

3. Optional: insensitive vaginal wall directly, by rubbing
as a ritual reminescence of penetration in ex-virgins,

and clitoral bulbs indirectly, by pressing the vaginal vestibule
4. Clitoral shaft indirectly, by pressing pubic mound
and pressing against the pubic bone (climax)

Given sufficient stimulation by direct and/or indirect pressure applied solely to her clitoris, almost every female can become sexually aroused quickly and will typically end in an orgasm, in more instances than expected, accompanied with the expulsion of noticeable amounts of clear fluid from the Skene's glands in a function named a female emmission or female ejaculation, commonly known as gushing, cumming or squirting. No penetration is needed to get a great orgasm. In fact, penetration without sufficient clitoral stimulation hardly ends in any orgasm.

In comparison with 60 years ago, male masturbation rates are slightly lower but female masturbation rates are strikingly higher.
Boys and young men jack slightly less. Girls and young women jill strikingly more.

Although American child and adolescent boys and young men still masturbate more prevalently than their female counterparts, the gap between cumulative incidence curves of both genders decreases with age, the widest being at age 14 and the narrowest in the age group 25 – 29. In comparison with 60 years ago male masturbation rates are slightly lower, but female masturbation rates are strikingly higher. Boys and young men jack slightly less. Girls and young women jill strikingly more. In spite of increasingly evident outcomes of environmental pressure (mostly social – like early sexualisation vis a vis prolonged beginnings of professional career, and biochemical - like xenoestrogens present in food and potable water, which are responsible for epidemics of premature puberty the female masturbation is being discouraged by the same Victorian myths that were fabricated long ago. Most of the imaginary threats address the fear of breaking the hymen because or being aroused or climaxing in result of simple rubbing the clitoris, but also horse riding, bicycling, humping the pillow, riding on the bolster, or syntribating (legs crossing and thighs squeezing to exert enough pressure to the crotch area) - while these common activities cannot spoil the hymen they surely can evoke an orgasm, some repeat the biggest nonsense of Sigmund Freud's junk science about clitoral orgasm inferiority towards vaginal orgasm (the last one is non-existent as Freud's patients were non-existent), and the other ones accuse female masturbation for undermining future ability to become pregnant.

Most of the imaginary threats address the fear of breaking the hymen because of being aroused or climaxing in result of simple rubbing the clitoris, but also horse riding [when the pelvis is tilted too far forward, to the point where a lady is riding on her pubic bone instead of her seat bones, squashing of her labia and her clitoris can occur], bicycling, humping the pillow, riding on the bolster, or syntribating (legs crossing and thighs squeezing to exert enough pressure to the crotch area) - while these common activities cannot spoil the hymen they surely can evoke an orgasm. Some of the anti-masturbatory myths repeat the biggest nonsense of Sigmund Freud's junk science about clitoral orgasm inferiority towards vaginal orgasm (the last one is non-existent as Freud's patients were non-existent), and the other ones accuse female masturbation for  interfereing with regularity, length, and intensity of menstrual bleeding or even undermining future ability to become pregnant.
